(SISS)  Hi Sherry, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time?  (SHERRY) I am originally from New York. I grew up on Long Island and lived in Manhattan for 6 year after college, before relocating to my new home, Austin, TX. I moved here to get away from the cradle to the grave I felt so strongly in NYC. I realized that I didn’t see any of my values in the big apple anymore. After reading up on Austin, seeing the beautiful juxtaposition of the city with the lake and hill country I felt like it was calling me. And after some smart selling me, my boyfriend and our two puppies, packed up, drove from NY to TX and took the leap. (SISS)  What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle?  (SHERRY) Well, that is a tough one. I can say that I have had a lot of struggles, as we all do. I have also had Sherry Daniellea lot of successes. In fact, I contribute most of my successes to my struggles and that ability to come out on the other side, stronger, wiser and better equip to slay my next dragon. I will share with you one of my most recent struggles and that is re-defining what it means to be a women in this new world we live in, and truly taking a hard look at myself and redefine who I am and what kind of legacy to I want to leave behind. I grew up with a sort of script, none of the women in my family worked and there was a strong emphasis on gender roles, particularly on the man as the provider. In November 2016 I lost my job as the head of marketing with a beauty tech startup in NYC. The company did not receive funding and slowly started to dissolve. I was out of a job. I decided right there that I was never going to have anyone tell me how much money I make, ever again. In December of 2016, I launched my company Digital. Mobile. Social. along with two online boutiques. My hasty decisions forced me to (and continue to) dig deep and redefine those “roles”. I had to constantly push myself to have the confidence of being financially independent, push myself to be completely responsible for my life, to accept myself as a provider as someone in charge, someone who can create wealth, success and happiness on her own terms, not according to a script or movie. Within our first year we hit six figures, with this year projecting some six Sherry Daniellefigure months. Now that I am almost 2 year out on this journey, the best advice I have for anyone feeling like there’s more, that you have a great idea but don’t know where to start, that you have more to offer the world, is this. DECIDE IT. Decide right now and don’t look back. You are stronger and more capable of things you cannot even imagine. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from reaching your potential. Because it is our failures that set us up for our greatest victories. (SISS)  Tell us more, who is @Sherry_Danielle and what are you most proud of? (SHERRY) Well, my full name is Sherry Danielle Greenberg. I am 28 years old, I am a cancer, I am a daughter, sister, granddaughter, girlfriend, puppy momma and friend. I strive to be a source of love. I believe in everyone’s ability to completely manifest the life of their dreams. I have a goal of becoming a powerful platform for local businesses here in Austin. I want to help them shine their light and tell their story. Being in marketing for years, I see how easily it is for small companies to get lost. I am building my digital footprint to support my neighbors and share their stories. I am proud to say this is already coming true, and its coming true because I allowed myself to be open, to throw away my insecurities and eliminate my self-talk of staying safe. (SISS)  One year from now what do you hope to have accomplished (business or personal)?  (SHERRY) One year from now I will have grown D.M.S. to a 7-figure company. I have started a family with my amazing boyfriend, Bryan. I have started construction on our waterfront home here in Austin. I have traveled to Asia for at least 2 months. I have celebrated my grandpas 97th birthday. I have watched my best friend get married. Yep.  (SISS)  How dedicated are you to fitness?  What is your fitness goal?  On your body, what is your favorite body part and what is your least favorite? (SHERRY) Over the last two months, very. I go to the gym 5 days a week. Legs, M. W. F. and Abs T. Th. We also keep a vegan household. Before that I was not serious about the gym. I have always been physically active but it was very hard for me to take my workouts at the gym seriously or even get into them. My goal for the gym is to be lean and strong. I want to be the best version of myself. I love my body. My favorite part of my body and my least are actually the same. #TheStruggleIsReal  (SISS)  What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you? (SHERRY) Travel, spending time with the people I love, feeling free, taking time to enjoy the sunset or anything really. I love time. I can have fun in just about any situation. I am naturally very excited and am down for just about anything. (SISS)  How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going? (SHERRY) Over the last two years I have trained myself to reframe disappointments. So in strange way I love them. I truly believe and trust in the universe that anything I want will come. So when something doesn’t happen, no matter how much I thought that was it I can say “Wow, I guess that didn’t matter so much, and here’s another way I can accomplish this. Go!” (SISS)  What is your superpower?  (SHERRY) My voice.  (SISS)  What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it?  (SHERRY) Feeling unworthy of love. I remind myself that I am love.  (SISS)  Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you?  (SHERRY) I love to paint, I spent two weeks living on a boat in Croatia, I met my boyfriend in an elevator, I have always wanted to write a book. (SISS)  Can you tell us where else Sherry Daniellecan our readers follow your daily inspiration? (SHERRY) you can follow me on Instagram @sherry_danielle and look for my new blog seriouslyfd.com coming out in June 2018. This will be an extension of my Instagram which covers Food, Fashion and Fun all around ATX with a strong emphasis on highlighting local communities, events, and businesses here in Austin.  (SISS)  What’s your favorite quote?  (SHERRY) “Everything you can imagine is real” – Pablo Picasso  (SISS)  At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business.  What are you most passionate about?  (SHERRY) I have a passion for narration. In so many forms; music, history, books, social media. I just love stories and how they make me feel connected, even if it has nothing to do with me.  (SISS)  Who was the most influential person in your life and why?  (SHERRY) Without limiting it to one, I will say the men in my life have all had significant impact that framed my reality. The good and the bad, I am thankful for them all.  (SISS)  Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self?  (SHERRY) Five years ago I was still working for my first job out of college, 2 years away from getting fired for taking too many vacation days (lol). I would say, “wow, you’re really having a great time. Keep living your life. Don’t worry so much about those scripts, you won’t need them where we’re going”. I think it’s really important to encourage people to do the things they enjoy and ignore our judgement. (SISS)  Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?  (SHERRY) Typically, I do what I want. No seriously, I wake up, l get dressed for the gym, before leaving I stand in front of my giant whiteboard and list out all the things I want to accomplish for the day, work and personal. So from finalizing a monthly report to telling Bryan I love him at least 5x today. Then it’s off to the gym. The mornings are all about me. Prioritizing myself in the morning makes me feel fulfilled and ready to take on everything else without getting drained. From there, I start knocking off that to-do list.  (SISS)  What is your favorite meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  What is your favorite song? (SHERRY) Dinner. The four agreements. Valarie – Amy Winehouse  (SISS)  When do you feel the sexiest?  (SHERRY) in something that hugs my body.  (SISS)  Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow?  (SHERRY) @somethingnavy  (SISS)  What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (SHERRY) The new meaning of feminine. The permission for people to be everything they are capable of and not holding yourself to old and untrue ideas. You know, the artist is not starving, the entrepreneur is not killing himself to make it and she is not just a housewife.  (SISS)  Thank you so much Sherry for sharing with us, follow her on Instagram and her company Digital. Mobile. Social. Also coming soon www.seriouslyfd.com
