Meet Heidie Naomi Oosthuyzen - What happened to JASMINE JAYDE? She's still alive and well, her music is on streaming services worldwide. Last time this year I was in Miami, having just launched the #AllBossEverything brand. This came on the tail end of wrapping up a season of time I spent helping clients around the globe build their own brands. We (my team and I) have served clients in the biggest cities around the globe. North America and Europe being our core focus. What you don't know about JASMINE, is she's a badass. Imagine running through industrial parking lots late at night, calling every tough Mo-fo you know, and the phone keeps ringing. It's then that you meet yourself. Imagine the thankless task of making sure your closest doesn't get swallowed by gang warfare. Imagine, living an undercover life, while your "other self" walks into meetings, shaking hands with men who think they know everything - yet, are clearly on a learning curb of their own. This is grace. Keeping your cards close, playing to win. Leading with your heart, following in humility, living by faith. We immigrated to Canada when I was 17. I spend a fair amount of my time in Toronto, but travel often for business. Last year I lived in Miami for 3 months, recording music.  (SISS)  What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle?  (Heidie Naomi)  Leaving an abusive relationship. In hind sight I am thankful for the experience, it forced me to really toughen up. I had to learn to advocate for myself. I think it’s important to remember who you are – capable. If you are in a similar situation, talk to someone you trust. When I started to open up about what I was experiencing, and how weak I felt, that’s when I was slowly able to grasp for strings of hope. Jasmine  #SISS Tell us more, who is @Heidie.Naomi and what are you most proud of?  (Heidie Naomi)  I’m proud of the fact that I moved to a new city, in a new country, straight out of high school with limited funds and made it work. I hustled nonstop. I was unafraid to try new things and fall on my face. It was a naïve fearlessness that propelled me forward. I created, co-wrote and produced my own television show at age 20. This is when I started talking with investors. At the time blogging was still a fairly new concept. We found a way to tie each episode to an engaged audience strategy using blogs. It was marketing on the frontier. I built my client list from the ground up and then switched to music at age 27. Art was my healing place, and eventually, Jasmine Jayde was born. She’s a badass. She’s the performer. Heidie is the businesswoman.  (SISS)  One year from now what do you hope to have accomplished (business or personal)?  (Heidie Naomi)  I’m currently working on some SaaS products (software as a service) – I’d like to see these ideas come to fruition.  (SISS)  How dedicated are you to fitness?  What is your fitness goal?  (Heidie Naomi)  As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started developing a deep appreciation for what one’s body can do. As you push yourself physically, you stretch the boundaries of your own mental capabilities. For me, emotional and physical freedom came hand in hand. As I learned to use to my voice, I became less afraid to own my space. I am dedicated to aging gracefully in a powerful way. This means, dedicating time and practice to fitness pursuits.  (SISS)  What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you?  (Heidie Naomi)  Moving with a powerful team. Each person playing their part. Thinking big. Being relentless in building a commanding vision. This is fun for me.  (SISS)  What were your best/worst subjects in school?  (Heidie Naomi)  Math was difficult for me, simply because I skipped many building blocks on the subject. I was attending a new school for every year I was in high school. I did well in subjects that allowed me to draw my own conclusions, such as History and English essays. I like to logically deduce and present my opinions.  (SISS)  How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going?  (Heidie Naomi)  You just gotta keep going SISS! Have a little cry, sleep the day away, go grab a bottle of your favorite adult juice – whatever works for you. Allow yourself to feel, but do not wallow for too long! Get your butt up and back at it. You can do anything you set your mind to. Find a new way, switch direction, don’t lose touch with that vision in your heart.  (SISS)  What is your superpower?  (Heidie Naomi)  A superhero never reveals her powers… haha. Great question though!  (SISS)  What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it?  (Heidie Naomi)  I think sometimes I underplay myself a lot. It has shown up in unfavorable ways in my life. As mentioned earlier, I had to learn to advocate for myself… and this is a daily, conscious choice. I choose to believe in myself!  (SISS)  Can you tell us four things people might not know about you?  (Heidie Naomi)  I’m very empathetic and compassionate. I think about your feelings more than I should. I’m a Scorpio woman. Meeting him was divine timing. We just couldn’t complete our life missions together.  (SISS)  Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self?  (Heidie Naomi)  I’d say, “B*tch, you’re about to enter a boxing ring. Hands up, stay alert and keep moving forward!” It was approximately five years ago that I woke up and discovered I could rap. I grew up fairly removed from pop culture, so I was just as shocked as anyone else around me, at the time, that hip hop was my pursuit of choice.  (SISS)  Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?  (Heidie Naomi)  My days vary greatly depending on the type of work I’m doing, or the meetings I have scheduled. I’ve always been a night owl, so waking up early is a struggle. However, I love coffee and this makes everything better! I have a home office and spend most of my time at a beautiful desk by a lovely window. My office is my sacred place and doubles as a costume/beauty room. This is where I go to play, dream, and create.  (SISS)  What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  (Heidie Naomi)  I just finished reading, “The five million dollar book” by Stefan Aarnio.  (SISS)  What would be a good theme song for your life?  (Heidie Naomi)  Scars – Brennan Savage  (SISS)  When do you feel the sexiest?  (Heidie Naomi)  When I’m done moisturizing with coconut oil after a great shower. That, or drinking champagne.  (SISS)  Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow?  (Heidie Naomi)  Lately I’ve been following some really amazing entrepreneurs. Andy Frisella and Ed Mylett come to mind.  (SISS)  What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (Heidie Naomi)  To me Smart is so Sexy means taking full ownership of who you are as a person.
