Ana Mascara - Certified life coach with a long list of entrepreneurial projects on the horizon. One of my greatest passions is creating educational videos for students & young professionals with the underlying message that success should not come at the expense of one's mental health. My background in clinical psychology and project management provided me with ample opportunities to make mistakes, learn and grow both professionally and personally. (Ana Mascara) Hi there #GIRLBOSS, I am originally from Tarnaveni (Romania) but am currently living in Canada. (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Ana Mascara) They say a hero is born in the wake of a dragon...The monster I had to face (more than once unfortunately) is burnout. The best advice I can give someone going through a similar battle is know your opponent - recognize the signs of fatigue early - take preventative action and remember that being busy is not the same as being productive. (SISS) Who is Ana Mascara and what are you most proud of? (Ana Mascara) I am often told by my subscribers that Ana Mascara represents the older sister they never had - and that is exactly why I started my educational channel in the first place. I am extremely proud of my YouTube family - as they accomplish great things day after day - inspiring me and others to be as hardworking as they are. (SISS) Your YouTube Channel is very informative and it seems like you carved out a niche for yourself. How/why did you come up with the idea for your YouTube Channel? (Ana Mascara) Thank you! In short, I started my channel back when I was completing my undergraduate degree in clinical psychology and felt I had nowhere and no one to turn to for guidance. What is fun for you? (Ana Mascara) Creating. Nothing else comes close! (SISS) How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going? (Ana Mascara) I know myself : the good, the bad & the ugly. Knowing your core self and having a growth mindset are key to perseverance and to dealing with failure. (SISS) What is your superpower? (Ana Mascara) Something a bit hard to explain: my drive. I have this inner force/energy that keeps pushing me forward and I don't really know how it operates nor what fuels it. But I am very thankful that it exists and I am doing my best to ensure that it never gets depleted. (SISS) What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it? (Ana Mascara) If I were a character in a video game - I would definitely be the healer: this is both a blessing & a curse. I had to learn the hard way that I can't help everyone; and that some people DO take advantage of your kindness. (SISS) Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you? (Ana Mascara) Such a fun question! Let's see.. (1) I absolutely love watching anime series, my favorites being Parasyte the Maxim, Elfen Lied & Overlord. (2) When I was young, my dream was to either be a veterinarian or a cast member on the show MadTV. (3) My "secret" hobbies include watercolor painting & writing poetry. (Ana Mascara) Growing - experiencing & witnessing personal growth in myself and others. (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life and why?  (Ana Mascara) My parents & grandparents, because they showed me what true strength is. Marilyn Manson, because he thought me that when the world doesn't accept you - create your own world. " I never said to be like me, I say be like you and make a difference." (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Ana Mascara) I was in uni - feeling lost and frustrated. If I could go back to give myself advice, I would say STOP WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON OTHER PEOPLE'S DEFINITION OF SUCCESS. Invest in yourself instead.  (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you? (Ana Mascara) To keep it short & sweet: Going to work - coming home (filming, editing, writing, learning, creating) - relaxing (usually involves anime or video games)   (SISS) What is your favorite meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read? What is your favorite song? (Ana Mascara) Ow noo..Don't make me pick a favorite meal!!! I love food too much. (Ana Mascara) A lot of people actually! But my top 3 are Mel Robbins, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Erkan Şahin (sokaklarin_sesi on Instagram). (SISS) What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you? (Ana Mascara) I think it represents an underlying lesson best described in the words of Audrey Hepburn: "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."
