(SISS) Hi Adriana, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time? (Adriana) I was born in Colombia but I moved to New York in my late teens. Most of my time is spent in NY where I have lived, studied, and I have a Master's in Forensic Psychology and certifications in personal training and nutrition, and built my business. (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Adriana) I Left a relationship with a 3-yr-old and started my own business. If you are in a relationship that's tearing you down instead of lifting you up, you must assess your value and make decisions based on your future wellbeing. On the same note, you spend one third of your day at work - you should be doing something that you enjoy. Life is too short to be in a job you hate. (SISS) What are you most grateful for? (Adriana) I'm grateful for my son and all that I have. (SISS) At Smart is so Sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business. What are you most passionate about? (Adriana) I'm passionate about helping people live fitter healthier lives. (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life? (Adriana) There hasn't been one sole person. A collection of people throughout the years have taught me different lessons and influence my way of being. I remain open to learning from successful sources on the daily basis. (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Adriana) I was kind of complaisant, not living to my fullest potential. This is what I would tell myself: Believe in yourself and go after all your goals!! You have everything you need within you! (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?
(Adriana) The following are some of the things I do on a regular basis during the week. Yet the order may change: Take care of my little one and drop him off at school. Deal with clients. Go to the gym. Work on my social media. Do research, write, listen to books. Spend time with my little one and put him to bed. Do some work for my blog or whatever project I have at the time. (SISS) How do you feel about “Perception is Reality”? Especially when people see a photo and assume what they want. Does that bother you that people may think less of someone because of the clothes they have on? Do you think women should be mindful of the image that they are portraying? (Adriana) Reality is a matter of perception and dependent on each individual person. I believe that we would live a more peaceful existence if judgment was put to the side. We all have biases and our own opinions but I have learned not to judge a book by it's cover. Most of us are multifaceted and the images we portray can be temporary. Women as well as men should be mindful of the images portrayed but also avoid living based on other's expectations of them. Basically, we should be conscious of where we stand, what we portray, and our daily habits, as well as be connected to our inner self and allow it to surface. (SISS) What is your favorite Food? What is your favorite book? When do you feel the sexiest? (Adriana) Food: Seafood. Book: I can't just identify one because every book has provided value at different points in my life. Lately, I have been reading about entrepreneurship and great businesses. The Founder's Dilemmas, Outliers, Disrupted, Steve Jobs, and The Everything Store are some of the great ones. I feel sexy when I'm with stimulating company. (SISS) A social media question, Facebook, twitter, instagram or snapchat? Which one do you use the most to best market yourself or brand? (Adriana) Actually, I like LinkedIn a lot and I'm pretty active on IG. (SISS) Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow? (Adriana) Too many to mention...I'm inspired by positive enthusiastic people who like to improve themselves and create positive change in the world! (SISS) What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you? (Adriana) It means that what you have within yourself is much more valuable and exciting than your exterior shell.
