(SISS) Hello Miss Carter, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time? (Miss Carter) I am from Charlottesville Virginia. I currently live in Washington, DC as well as Brooklyn, New York. (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Miss Carter) I don’t really look at problems in the way of the “hardest thing”. I just think that life gives you problems and it’s best to just navigate your best way through them. It’s the most beautiful part of life when you realize you are stronger than the problems you are facing. (SISS) What are you most grateful for? (Miss Carter) I’m most grateful for the support system in my friends and family. They always help me problem solve and lend an ear when I just want to talk. I love for people to visit the website to see what I am up to. It’s the world in my vision and how I see it. (SISS) What makes you the happiest? (Miss Carter) I spent a great deal of time at events or networking. So, when I’m not working I’m sitting in the house drawing and spending time with my friends and family. (SISS) Other than your website where can our readers find you and follow you for daily motivation and inspiration? (Miss Carter) I probably use my Insta-story on Instagram: @iamvaleriecarter the most. I put new music I find as well as what I’m doing on there during my daily movements. (Miss Carter) “I am me, and me is I.” – Unknown (SISS) At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business. What are you most passionate about? (Miss Carter) I should be in the works to open a bar this year in the DC area so I’m pretty excited about the new plans in the works for that. (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life? (Miss Carter) Myself. I just want to make myself happiest and work on that. It’s hard to find someone I wish to be like or wish to take the same routes in life as them. I just want to make my mark on the planet a little different than most. (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Miss Carter) Five years ago, I was working at a bar, bored looking for something to make me a better person. Something that would make my soul smile. I guess I would tell myself not to wait as long, and don’t wait for your friends to be ready for you to make a move you want to make. (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you? (Miss Carter) My days aren’t ever very typical. It really depends on what’s on the calendar that day. Sometimes it’s photo shoots and bartending. Other days it’s sitting at home working on interviews such as this. I try not to make every day the same as the last. I try to always learn or do something new.  (SISS) What are you most proud of? (Miss Carter) hmmmm…. not too sure. I’m probably most proud of the fact that I read a book a week and have since I was in high school. (SISS) What is your favorite Food? What is your favorite book? When do you feel the sexiest? (Miss Carter) Favorite food is egg rolls, not too sure why that is. I really don’t know if I have a favorite book anymore, when I was younger it was Alice in Wonderland.   I feel the sexiest when I wake up to when I close my eyes. (SISS) A social media question, Facebook, twitter, instagram or snapchat? Which one do you use the most to best market yourself or brand? (Miss Carter) I probably network best face to face. I’m always out at an event or social scene. I use most platforms for keeping up with people. I like Twitter and Instagram. (SISS) Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow? (Miss Carter) I love Jhene Aiko. She brings peace to my soul through her posts. I love her. (SISS) What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (Miss Carter) Being yourself. Trying to go against what everyone else is doing and finding your place in the world.
