Fit Sid

Meet Sidney "First things first, lets get to know the basics about me! My name is Sidney... I'm a Leo, fluent in Swedish, and a gym junkie! I am based in Arizona, but love traveling! I have an adorable Pomeranian named Toastie, 2 siblings, and a very diverse family life." Via YouTube  (SISS)  Hi Sidney, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time? (Sidney) I am from Arizona and currently spending my time in Arizona since I study Exercise and Wellness at Arizona State University. (SISS)  What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Sidney) Fit SidOne of the hardest things I had to endure was being severely obese. When I was in high school I was 233 lbs, depressed, obese, and in a downward spiral. I was unmotivated, had high cholesterol, hypothyroidism, was pre diabetic, and hated myself. I had hit my lowest point in life but enduring that made me the woman I am today. The biggest piece of advice I would give to someone going through the same struggle is that the only thing holding someone back from changing their life for the better is themselves. (SISS)  What are you most proud of? (Sidney) I am most proud of my weight loss journey. I have been able to spread my transformation story (Video) to young girls who are desperate for a change but don’t know where to start. I am proud to have been able to lose 55 lbs but gain back my life. (SISS)  How dedicated are you to fitness?  What is your fitness goal?  On your body, what is your favorite body part and what is your least favorite? (Sidney) Fitness is a huge aspect of my life. I dedicate at least an hour a day to something fitness related to keep myself in shape. My main fitness goal right now is to sculpt my body into the curves I like. I would love to put on 5 more pounds of muscle and weight about 170 lbs at 5’9. My favorite body part of mine is my

Sidneycalves. Whenever I look at my calves I see strong legs and reminds me of all the hard work I have put in. My least favorite body part would have to be my stomach. I feel like this is something a lot of people call their “problem area” but for me I still embrace my imperfections rather than hate them. I have been working on self love for about 3 years now and can say that this past year I have been able to love myself more than ever. (SISS)  What makes you the happiest? (Sidney) I am the happiest when I am in a routine and helping others. I love being able to create content on my YouTube channel that inspires my viewers to start their health journey. For so long I thought that YouTube was what made me happy but I realized it was all the amazing people I have met and helped that make me happiest. (SISS)  How do you deal with disappointment? (Sidney) I deal with disappointment by embracing that success is NOT a linear path. I may disappoint myself and others along the way but I need Sidneyto embrace the journey I am on. (SISS)  In 2017 what was your biggest win and your biggest loss? (Sidney) In 2017, my biggest win was realizing that I could help girls change their lifestyle and actually motivate them. I had a realization around November of 2017 that I could create a weight loss motivation program to help girls start their journey. It is launching on Valentine's Day 2018 on my new website www.fitsid.com. My biggest loss of 2017 was not being able to compete, I went through 16 weeks of a 20 week prep and just was not mentally prepared for how hard prep is. I want to compete in figure and I know I will eventually but for now I am working on building the body for stage before I go into a prep. (SISS)  What’s your biggest goal for 2018? (Sidney) My biggest goal for 2018 is to reach 100,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, I am currently at 17,000. I would love to be able to reach for teenage girls and help show them that they CAN be healthy and happy. (SISS)  Can you describe that aha moment when you decided to make the change to be fit?  What advice would you give someone who hasn’t made the same decision yet? (Sidney) My aha moment when I decided to make the change to be fit was the very beginning of my winter break sophomore year. It was the first day of break and I was hanging out with one of my friends and we had been eating what I normally eat all day… complete crap. At the end of the day my friend said to me, “I feel so sick from all the junk we ate today. Sidney, do you feel sick?” and in that moment I realized, I didn’t. My body was so used to eating like crap that it had gotten used to it. I realized that the reason I felt like crap was because I was eating crap. That day was December 17th, 2014 and since then I have never looked back. The advice I would give to someone who hasn’t made the same decision yet would be: do not wait until Monday, New Years, or a new month. Start now when you are motivated for a change. Create good habits while you are motivated and then stay consistent. If you are consistent on the days you are not motivated, you will thank your future self. (SISS)  Can you Sidneytell us four things people don’t know about you? (Sidney) Four things about me that most people don’t know: First, I am a dual citizen and fluent in both Swedish and English. Second, I started making YouTube videos over 5 years ago under the name Fashion Barbie 16. Third, I have truly not had a “bad day” in over 3 years because it is all about mindset. Fourth, I own a Pomeranian named Toastie. He is one of the reasons I kept up with losing weight in the beginning of my journey. I did a contest with my father and whoever lost the most weight would get something, I received half the cost of my Pomeranian. My dog motivates me to be my best self and is a constant reminder of how far I have come. (SISS)  Can you tell us where else can our readers follow you and your daily inspiration? (Sidney) Your readers can follow me on a few social media platforms! My website is www.fitsid.com.  My YouTube channel My Instagram is @Fit.Sid And my Snapchat is simplysidneyxo for those who want to see the behind the scenes of my daily life. (SISS)  What’s your favorite quote? (Sidney) My favorite quote is, “Do it for the ‘Holy Shit! You got hot!”. The reason this is my favorite quote is because that is what compelled me to get into the gym. It motivated me to continue my journey and to be honest, everyone in the gym is in there for the same reason: to look and feel good.  (SISS)  At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business.  What are you most passionate about? (Sidney) My biggest passion is helping other young girls achieve what I did in high school. I want to expand my brand and be able to share all the knowledge that I have acquired on my personal weight loss journey and in college as an Exercise & Wellness major at Arizona State University. I wake up each morning hoping to be able to help impact at least one girls life in a positive way. (SISS)  Who was the most influential person in your life and why? (Sidney) The most influential person in my life would have to be one of my close friends, Jessica Hutchens. Jess is like a big sister to me. She aspires to be her best self at all times and help others reach their health goals. Jess inspires me to go after my goals and not fear them. Having her in my life has made it easier to take risks for my Fit Sid brand and be able to let me bounce ideas off of as well. She influenced me to be my best self and reminds me on the tough days WHY I am doing what I do. (SISS)  Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Sidney) Five years ago I was in middle school. Middle school was a tough time for me because I was bullied and had just started making YouTube videos. At that time I knew I enjoyed making videos but I did not know what was about to come. I would tell my younger self to stay consistent with the things I am doing and to focus on myself. At the end of the day you are the only person you can control, do not worry about what others say or do because if you want something bad enough they will not matter. (SISS)  Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you? (Sidney) Fit SidA typical day in the life for myself looks a little like this… First things first, I wake up around 8am, hop into the shower, do my morning ritual, and then get some breakfast before class. I usually eat some oatmeal with peanut butter and drink 16oz of water before I even leave my dorm room. Then I usually have a class so I go to that class and once I am done I find a nice place to do some work. I like to work outside so I find a nice spot to sit with my laptop and work on editing a new video, replying to emails, doing work for my college classes, or work on my new program. After about an hour or two, I take a break. By this time it is about noon and I go to get some lunch. I usually hit up the dinning hall and order 2 chicken breasts with broccoli. After eating I usually go back up to my room and film a new video before my next class. Usually around 2 I have a class and then continue to the rest of my classes until 6pm. After class I go back to my dorm and change in order to hit the gym for a lift at 7:30pm and maybe even some cardio until 9pm. By 9pm my workout is complete and I am back at the dorms and eating a dinner. My dinner usually consists of something filling but high in protein. I love having pasta with chicken or a protein shake with a turkey sandwich to finish off my macros. After dinner I head up to my room to continue my work until about midnight and then I head to bed. My night time routine usually consists of drinking tea, staying off my phone, and reminding myself of my goals. (SISS)  What is your favorite treat meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  What is Fit Sidyour favorite song? When do you feel the sexiest? (Sidney) My favorite treat meal would have to be Fettuccine Alfredo and a Pizookie! My favorite book is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle because it helps keep my grounded. I have read that book hundreds of times and it never seems to get old. One of my favorite songs is Of All Things by G-Eazy. My favorite lyric from the song is: “You could be anything in this world. You could be anything in this world. Momma said, you could be anything in this world. You could be anything in this world. But of all things in this life you could pick to be. You sure look like a hater or a bitch to me. Of all things you could pick to be. You sure look like a bitch to me” I feel the sexiest when I am sweating in the gym and pushing myself. It’s weird to think that I enjoy being drenched in sweat but I honestly feel my sexiest there. (SISS)  Can you name someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow? (Sidney) One of my biggest inspirations on social media is SmallandStrong.fit because she has turned her life around, is incredible smart, and is a boss babe. She has amazing content on her Instagram that is fitness related and so helpful! (SISS)  What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (Sidney) Smart is so Sexy means to me that being your authentic hard working passionate self is sexy. Seeing a girl who is working hard and succeeding with her business and goals is sexy. (SISS) Thank you so much Sidney for sharing with us, please everyone subscribe to her Youtube channel and follow her on Instagram @Fit.Sid
