Meet Makenzie Kramer - Makenzie Kramer by day, and Kenzie K by night; she has been focused on her brand her whole life. Makenzie loves her southern roots of North Carolina; sweet tea and fried chicken are now a part of her blood steam, she relocated to Minneapolis and started in the modeling and acting world at the age of 15; booking shoots, as well as participating in theater, and film festivals. She continued on to Brown College as the Conclave Scholarship winner, and graduated with honors while receiving a Broadcasting Degree. She was blessed enough to Intern for the Dave Ryan Show; which lead her to her own overnight on air position as Kenzie K on KDWB, the number one hit music station in Minneapolis. Overjoyed with the opportunity she continued to work hard and became a TV News Reporter for KEYC News 12 in Mankato, and while she was there snagged another radio position as the evening girl on Hot 96.7. She recently left her T.V. News Reporter position to accept a Promotions Assistant position at Radio Mankato as well as becoming The Big Hot Morning  Show   Co -  producer .  Juggling  all  of  these  opportunities has made her even more focused, and determined. The crazy hours never take the smile off her face, or the food out of her hand. via www.kenziek-makenziekramer.com/bio

Kenzie K(SISS)  Hi Kenzie, Congratulations on making the cover of Prolific Quarterly!  Who was the first person you told and why? (Kenzie K) It's probably cliché, but I had to tell my mom right away. She's watched me model since I was 15, and seen me want to model for years before that. I used to watch America's Next Top Model for hours on end, working on my "smize." I knew she'd appreciate it the most. (SISS)  What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Kenzie K) I struggled with an eating disorder for several years, and I truly hated myself and my body. My short curvy self was bullied on the regular. The funny thing about being different is when you're young It's one of the worst things, but as you grow your individuality plays a huge role into your beauty. So to all those who feel different and hate it; just wait people will be dressing like you, doing their hair like yours, speaking the way you do. You're beauty and uniqueness will soon take center stage. Change for no one. (SISS)  What are you most grateful for? (Kenzie K) That I was raised to have a relationship with God. I truly get to say I've never been alone. (SISS)  How dedicated are you to fitness?  What is your fitness goal?  On your body, what is Kenzie Kyour favorite body part and what is your least favorite? (Kenzie K) Fitness and I have an up and down relationship. I have a crazy schedule and let me tell ya I love to eat!  I've really tried to incorporate making healthier choices a part of my life, and get some great workouts in, because the more calories I burn the more I'm allowed to eat! My goals are to find peace with my body, which is an every day struggle like it is for many. I'm most known for my booty because it is poppin' lol, but my least favorite part of my body is my lower stomach. Where ever there is a booty and hips there is also lower stomach squishiness! (SISS)  What makes you the happiest? (Kenzie K) Traveling, and completely disappearing. If it wasn't for my career I wouldn't even have social media, too many opinions, and too much drama. I believe in being focused on yourself and your own life. I like to travel, not check my phone, and lose myself in others culture and traditions. (SISS)  How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going? I'm very hard on myself, which is good and bad. I have high expectations of myself, but I beat myself up when I don't meet expectations. At the end of the day that's not what matters. The most important thing is that disappointment doesn't stop you. Go ahead and thug cry it out, that's okay, but you better stand up and continue forward. (SISS)  In 2017 what was your biggest win and your biggest loss? (Kenzie K) It's hard for me to choose my biggest win, Kenzie Kmy show ratings went up, I got my first magazine cover, and I fell in love.. pretty good year right? Well it was filled with a lot of difficulties. I moved to Tampa, FL from Minneapolis without knowing anyone or anything about this place. I learned a lot of lessons the hard way. Not everyone was what they had presented themselves to be and I got burned a few times, but I learned and kept it pushing. (SISS)  What is one of your goals for 2018? Five years from now where do you hope to be or accomplished at this point? (Kenzie K) 2018 is all about radio growth. My show will be at the top. I think about what I can do and how I can grow each day! Five years from now I hope to be a part of a morning show and to have truly built the "Kenzie K" brand from radio, T.V., modeling, to certain foundations I hope to start and be a part of. I always have a million balls in the air; I'm never content. (SISS)  I’m sure you interviewed many people, which celebrity interview was the most memorable and why?  (Kenzie K) My most memorable moment was last year at my first Wildsplash. My boss, Oralndo Davis, said I needed to be initiated. So while interviewing Trey Songz I had to get his underwear.. yeah so anyways he was super sweet and gave me his boxers.  (SISS)  Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you? (Kenzie K) (1) When I was young I only liked the diverse Disney Princesses, at the time it was just Jasmin and Pocahontas, I also preferred black Barbie's. Diversity has always been so beautiful to me.  (2) I'm in love with elephants, they're all over my apartment. Did you know they actual die of broken hearts? When their mate passes away they become so upset they stop eating until they also die. Yeah I want that elephant type love.  (3) One of my friends introduced me to the power of crystals and the good energy they bring, and now I always have crystals in my bra.. keeping good energy close to my heart.  (4) I'm genuinely addicted to shoes, however I've chosen to not seek help and just keep purchasing Kenzie Kthem. (SISS)  In Tampa you are on Wild 94.1 radio from 10am-3pm can you tell us where else can our readers follow your daily inspiration? (Kenzie K) I'm very active on my socials @kenziekonair on Twitter and Instagram, I'm great at responding if you choose to message me!  Also later this year you can expect to see a website up and running. (SISS)  What’s your favorite quote?  (Kenzie K) "The woman who does not require validation from anyone is the most feared individual on the planet" - Mohadesa Najumi (SISS)  At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business.  What are you most passionate about? (Kenzie K) I think the world needs more happiness. That's why I love radio, I'm really just here to make you smile! Of course as I travel down my path I really hope I can become a voice for women. I'd love to start a 360 degree body campaign.. loving yourself from every angle! I want everyone to see their beauty.  (SISS)  Who was the most influential person in your life and why? (Kenzie K) I believe this changes throughout the course of your life. As for now the man I'm with inspires me everyday. He's been successful and is successful, he has amazing advice and some days he's just there to pick me up, we all need a little boost sometimes, and he's happy to be that. (SISS)  Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Kenzie K) Five years ago I had just graduated high school. I busted my ass to put it bluntly. I attended college on scholarship, while working full time, and being a full time intern. I graduated with Honors, and continued to take any job in the field that was given to me. At one point I had 5 jobs; a T.V. News Reporter, an overnight jock, a night jock, promotions, and a board operator. I worked 120 hours a week and slept in my car because the jobs were located two hours a part from each other in different cities. You want your dream to come true? Make it come true.  (SISS)  Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking
Kenzie K up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?
(Kenzie K) Waking up in the morning I check everything to make sure nothing crucial that I need to talk about happened while I'm sleeping. I get to the station about 45 minutes before my show and lay it all out. Then I have a live radio show from 10-3. I always have something after work whether it's a meeting, a photo-shoot, or an event I need to attend and network at, and there are times I have more than one. I stay busy!  At night after everything I'm back to show prepping for the next day. Radio takes a lot more effort then people realize. You're always trying to stay relevant and be creative. (SISS)  What is your favorite treat meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  What is currently your favorite song?  When do you feel the sexiest? (Kenzie K) I will mess up a good Philly cheese steak!! My favorite book is "To Kill a Mockingbird" also I'm obsessed with anything Shakespeare. I love Hip-Hop with all my heart but when I'm by myself I listen to R&B and I'm obsessed with K. Michelle's new album "Kimberley: The people I used to know" I swear my whole soul feels that album. Lol if you know anything about me you know I love crazy nails! and I can't wait to get them done every 3 weeks. When I first get my nails done you really can't tell me anything. I basically become a combination of Rihanna and Cardi B, well at least in my mind I do.  (SISS)  A social media question, Facebook, twitter, instagram or snapchat? Which one do you use the most to best market yourself or brand? (Kenzie K) Instagram! My favorite app to promote on, I love that you can turn your account into a business page and actually watch your insights/statistics. (SISS)  Can you name someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow? (Kenzie K) @theshelahmarie she is here for body positivity, women's success, and equality, I love her! I mean I don't know her, but I love her. (SISS)  What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you? (Kenzie K) I find it empowering. Women are often told and trained to be one dimensional. You're either hot and dumb, or homely and smart. Plus for some reason we are taught only one of us can be amazing. We are queens and we need to be happy for one another and help each other win! For example female rappers are always marketed as having issues because they are fighting to be the queen of the game, but the market is over saturated with successful men who can all get along, it's honestly ridiculous. We can be who we want to be and more than one of us can be successful without it being a competition, and I believe this brand stands for that.  (SISS)  Thank you so much Kenzie, we are honored that you shared with us, you are amazing!
