(SISS) Hi Karla, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time? (Karla) I was born in Puerto Rico, but have lived in Orlando, Florida for over 20 years. (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Karla) I was in a physically abusive relationship for almost 9 years. It was very difficult to get out of. I found that putting my energy and focus into lifting weights and working out was a great way to become stronger both physically and mentally. (SISS) Instagram’s @Swole_Barbie, an athlete but who is Karla Rodriguez and what are you most proud of? (Karla) I am a daughter, aunt, and sister. I am most proud of my five year old niece. She is everything. (SISS) How dedicated are you to fitness? What is your fitness goal? On your body, what is your favorite body part and what is your least favorite? (Karla) I am 100% dedicated to fitness. I work out every day and it is a huge part of my life. My goal is just to look and feel good every day and to inspire others to do the same. My favorite body part is my back and my least favorite is my legs. (SISS) What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you? (Karla) I am happiest when I have time to go to the beach and read. I love reading and lying in the sun or being home with my dog. (SISS) How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going? (Karla) Unfortunately, disappointments are a huge part of life. I try to find the positive in every situation and focus on becoming better. (SISS) What is your superpower? (Karla) I am a good listener and great at giving advice. (SISS) What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it? (Karla) I fall in love quickly and passionately! I overcome it by making sure that I put my energy and focus into other aspects of my life such as the gym or work or my family. (SISS) Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you? (Karla) I am very shy. I would like to have kids one day. I love to read. I like to be alone (SISS) Can you tell us where else can our readers follow your daily inspiration? (Karla) I mainly use Instagram for daily posts, but I use snapchat several times a day to post about my daily life and my dog. (SISS) What’s your favorite quote? (Karla) “Light weight, baby” (SISS) At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business. What are you most passionate about? (Karla) I am very accomplished at work. I work at a law firm and I am very passionate about my job. (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life and why? (Karla) My Mother is the most influential person. She is a strong woman who raised three amazing daughters. Even today I make sure that she is proud of everything I do. (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Karla) Five years ago I was a corrections officer at a jail and was stuck in a bad relationship. My advice would be to learn to love yourself and walk away from anyone who doesn’t have your best interest at heart. (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you? (Karla) I typically wake up at 4am to do my cardio, I then work until 3 or 4 pm and then I immediately hit the gym for my weight session. Then I go home and spend time with my dog before going to bed. (SISS) What is your favorite meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read? What is your favorite song? (Karla) My favorite meal/food is cheese pizza. I do not have a favorite book, but I am currently reading “The marriage pact.” I do not have a favorite song, but I listen to EDM, Reggeaton, and Hip Hop. (SISS) When do you feel the sexiest? (Karla) I feel the sexiest when I am happy with the look of my body. When I am content with my shape, I feel sexy all day no matter what I am wearing or what I am doing. (SISS) Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow? (Karla) I follow a few women on social media, but there is not one in particular that I can say. Each woman has something special about them that stands out and each woman in confident and sexy in a unique way. (SISS) What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you? (Karla) Smart is definitely sexy so I would have to say that it means that a confident woman is attractive. It means that sexy is not based just on looks or clothing, but on your attitude and the confidence that you have in yourself regardless of what others think or say.
