Via Facebook.com/HeloisaAlves (SISS) Hi Heloísa where are you from and where are you currently spending your time? (Heloisa) I was born in Brazil, but when I was 13 my parents and I moved to Seattle, WA. Seattle is home to me, but I reside in Miami. (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle? (Heloisa) I believe hardships and challenges are an important part of life. These difficult moments help shape our values and the way we go about life. My biggest challenge in life was also the biggest blessing in my life. As an immigrant child, it was hard to adapt to a new life. My parents worked day and night to give me a decent life and education. I’m so grateful for that. Now, it’s my turn to give back to them. (SISS) Very accomplished Businesswoman, Musician, dedicated to fitness #SISS Tell us more, who is @HeloisaAlves and what are you most proud of? (Heloisa) I recently graduated from college with a degree in Business Administration. I worked hard to earn money as I worked hard to be a great student. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA. Am I proud of that? Yes, but that was my job. My hard work paid off. Everything I learned in college has helped me become a more confident business woman. I’m full of hobbies and dreams. I love playing the piano and the guitar. Music is my therapy. I have the heart of a vagabond musician who wishes to travel the world, taste all the foods and sail the seas. I also enjoy scuba diving in the deep blue ocean, and the simplicity of just watching the sunset at the beach; It’s a humbling experience. Jiu-jitsu has given me the discipline I have always wished I had. It keeps me both mentally and physically fit. It challenges me, and teaches me that giving up is not an option. I have been training jiu-jitsu for 6 years, and although being physically fit from it is a great benefit, the greatest benefit of all is that I have made it my way of life. I’m surrounded by great people with a common goal: To achieve black belt excellence and to live life the best way possible through the Code of the Bushido which are values that were left to us by the Samurais. I believe everyone should train jiu-jitsu. :) (SISS) One year from now what do you hope to have accomplished (business or personal)? (Heloisa) One year from now, I intend to have grown my social media platforms exponentially. I am currently working at a local Miami TV station. My intention is to use both platforms (TV and Online) to reach as many people as possible and share good moments, some laughter and healthy information and consequently make profit from that. (SISS) How dedicated are you to fitness? What is your fitness goal? On your body, what is your favorite body part and what is your least favorite? (Heloisa) I’m dedicated to a healthy life style through healthy eating and martial arts, and my goal is to maintain this way of life. I don’t believe in diets and fitness trends/challenges... I think challenges makes us motivated for a limited amount of time, and I don’t think our health should be the enthusiasm of a moment, I believe concern for health should be a life long journey. I believe in eating real foods. I believe in holistic medicine and that the cure to most of the world’s illnesses is related to how and what we eat and in keeping our bodies active. I love my butt, but not all the time… lol. It’s very big. I love my body, but of course I have insecurities. I have dimples and stretch marks, but I’m training myself to accept myself, and to age graceful. (SISS) What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you? (Heloisa) I am happy when the people around me are happy. I’m happiest when I’m in the calm blue ocean, and I find peace within. (SISS) How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going? (Heloisa) It’s inevitable to become disappointed sometimes and demotivated, but I have a good therapy. I tell myself to lighten up. I literally talk to myself in front of a mirror, or I give myself positive and empowering lectures when I’m driving. I am constantly lifting myself up, empowering myself. It might sound egocentric, but I believe that’s how you achieve great confidence, by telling yourself that you are capable. (SISS) What is your superpower? (Heloisa) Adaptability. It doesn’t matter what happens, I will adapt and I will overcome adversities. (SISS) What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it? (Heloisa) I get anxious because sometimes I want to rush certain processes of life. If I feel like that is about to happen, I check myself, put some spa music on, spray lavender on my bed and drink herbal tea. It helps. (SISS) Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you? (Heloisa) I love Sharks. I loved taking Astronomy in college inside an observatory dome. I have two brothers who taught me how to fish, fight and spit. I listen to classical music when I’m home alone. (SISS) Can you tell us where else can our readers follow your daily inspiration? (Heloisa) Please follow me on Instagram @heloisaalves and you may watch me at America Teve at 7pm daily at “El Happy Hour”. (SISS) What’s your favorite quote? (Heloisa) An unexamined life in not worth living. –Socrates (SISS) At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business. What are you most passionate about? (Heloisa) I’m passionate about life and living life to the fullest in a healthy and wholesome manner. I’m also passionate about knowledge. I believe that knowledge is power! I believe that women must empower each other and open ways for each other. If you are successful in a certain area, and you see other women struggling, help them out. Share your knowledge, share your experience. What goes around, comes around. Grow and help others grow. (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life and why? (Heloisa) My mom is my SHero! She provided me with an amazing life, and gave me great confidence. I wasn’t aware of how hard she worked to give me so much. She dedicated her life to me, and now I want to dedicate my success to her. (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self? (Heloisa) Five years ago I was driving from NYC to Miami. I was young, broke, happy, and goalless living life “Carpe Diem” style. I swam in the ocean, worked as a model and actress and really enjoyed life in a carefree manner. If I could give an advice to my younger self, it would be that time flies, that saving money is important and that education is super important. (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you? (Heloisa) I don’t really have a routine, but most days I wake up at 8:30am in desperate need of a warm and freshly brewed cup of coffee. Somedays I run to the beach, other days I stay in and do work for our personal business and some other days I work on producing segments of the TV show I work for. On weekend mornings, I usually train Jiu-jitsu. (SISS) What is your favorite meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read? What is your favorite song? My Favorite Song: A Pirate’s Look at Age 40 (SISS) When do you feel the sexiest? (Heloisa) When I’m happy. (SISS) Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow?
