(SISS) Hi Cheyann, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time?  (Cheyann) I was raised in a small town in Texas - Castroville. I am currently living in San Antonio, Texas. I will be relocating in the next six months to Tuscon, Arizona to finish my pre-law degree at the University of Arizona.  (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle?  (Cheyann) I’m currently going through what I consider to be the hardest thing I have had to go through - my dad is sick and he won’t be getting better. The only advice I can give is to love hard and understand that someone somewhere else has been through this and made it through. Even on the worst of days know that the sun will continue to rise and set and life will continue. Go through whatever emotions you need to go through, but don’t stop living. I say go through loosely, because I believe in growing through things instead(SISS) Fitness | Pre-Law Student | Brand Ambassador | www.redlifestyleapparel.com | #SISS Tell us more… Who is @cheyann_maria and what are you most proud of?  (Cheyann) I’m a daughter,

Cheyann Saenz

a sister, a friend, a pre-law student, an athlete and just human. I am proud of the woman I am. It’s taken me a long time to find true happiness within myself. After my last breakup three years ago, I had to step back and truly look at the big picture. I recognized a lot about myself that could be changed. I’ve since then taken the time to learn about myself and what makes me happy. I think everyone always has room to improve, but I’m very satisfied with the person I am today and the person I know I’m becoming.  (SISS) Finish this sentence, I have a dream… ?  (Cheyann) …One day every wrongfully convicted person will be free.  (SISS) What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you?  (Cheyann) Just being with my friends or family in general. The happiest that I have been though was last year on 10/19 during a charity event I planned. To see the community, turn out and know that so many people were going to be so positively impacted was so overwhelmingly beautiful to me. I cried when I got home after the event because I was so grateful to have been part to such a great event. I love planning events and bringing people together.  (SISS) How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going?  (Cheyann) Disappointment is subjective to every person. I think your mindset has a lot to do with whether you become disappointed about a situation or not. I honestly, could not tell you the last time I was disappointed. I think when you take ownership of everything that happens to/for you then you can begin to see things not going in your favor as lessons and grow from them. (SISS) What is your superpower?  (Cheyann) My empathy. People have opened up to me since I was a kid. I at first didn’t understand it and didn’t embrace it. As I’ve gotten older, I have learned to embrace it and truly enjoy getting to know people and hear about their lives. Everyone has a story and we are all more alike than we take time to learn.  (SISS) Finish the sentence, my life has gotten so much better since… ?  (Cheyann) ...I

started to focus on myself and my happiness. Self-care is important and not selfish. You have to take care of yourself to put your best out into the world.  (SISS) Can you tell us four things people might not know about you?  (Cheyann) (1) I can eat an extra-large Papa John's Pizza and dessert by myself.  (2) I didn’t get on an airplane until I was 21.  (3) In second grade I was reading at a 12 grade and up level.  (4) I’ve wanted to be an attorney since I was 11.  (SISS) Can you tell us where else can our readers follow your daily inspiration?  (Cheyann) My Instagram is probably as close to my personality as I will let social media be. @cheyann_maria  (SISS) What’s your favorite quote?  (Cheyann) “It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it.” - Aristotle  (SISS) At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business.  What are you most passionate about?  (Cheyann) I’m currently working towards my law degree. People are my passion. Seeing them truly thrive and succeed makes my heart the happiest. I am huge on giving back.  (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life and why?  (Cheyann) I sat on this question for a while honestly. I don’t know that I have a “most” influential person. I think bits and pieces of people have marked me in different ways and together the people I have known play a large part in the influence of my life.  (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self?  (Cheyann) Five years ago,...phew. Seems like a lifetime ago if we’re being honest. I was in a relationship that, at the time, I hoped would never end. I thought I was going to marry that man. God apparently had such greater plans for me. I would just tell myself to trust myself and trust the timing of your life. I

cannot express how grateful I am at this point in my life for not getting what I thought I wanted. Things work out the way they’re meant to. Even if it’s not exactly what we “want” at the time.  (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?  (Cheyann) 4:35AM - my first alarm goes off. I hop out of bed. Throw on some gym clothes. Grab my water and head to the gym. 5:00AM - 6:30AM GRIND TIME 6:35AM - 7:15AM shower, read and make breakfast. I listen to audio books in the morning to get my mind ready for the day. And breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! 7:20AM-8:30AM get dressed for a day at the office 9:00AM - 5:00PM that 9-5 life. Drive home 5:30PM-6:00PM Cardio 6:30PM-until I close my laptop is school or work of some sort. Usually around 12:30 AM.  (SISS) What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  (Cheyann) My favorite book is Can’t Hurt Me - David Goggins. His mindset parallels my own.  (SISS) What would be a good theme song for your life?  (Cheyann) I don’t think there is just ONE - my music is all different genres and just like life. Every day is different!  When I say I listen to everything I do mean nearly everything. From Sinatra, to Eazy-E, to Ella Mai, to George Strait, to shoot just follow me on Spotify and you’ll see. (SISS) When do you feel the sexiest?  (Cheyann) There are two instances where I feel the sexiest. At home bare faced and dressed comfortable. It’s just me.  And at the gym - strength is so sexy to me.  (SISS) Can you name three people from social media that inspires you and is a great follow?  (Cheyann) I have a very inspiring circle around me -   @lexibuentello @annaquinnfitness @miguelito_hudson - All very close people to me and all entrepreneurs that started their business and built it from ground up.  (SISS) What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (Cheyann) What I think when I read “Smart is so Sexy” I think that a person with a mind is sexier than any physical feature could ever be. We are organic material that is decaying each day. Our mind however, holds thoughts that could last lifetimes past our own. A legacy even - which is powerful.  (SISS)  Thank you Cheyann, you are awesome please Keep Going #SISS
