Meet Nadira Ramautarsing - I was born (1989) and raised in Paramaribo, Suriname (South America) by 2 loving parents in company of my little brother. At age 18, I came to the Netherlands to study at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, where I finished my Bachelor degree in International Business Administration. Afterwards, I specialized in Marketing, obtaining a MSc. title from the VU University in Amsterdam. Together with partner, I own 2 companies, which we recently combined into a beautiful store in Hilversum, The Netherlands. Apart from being the founder of my own textile printing company Customized Wear, Luxury Fashion & Lifestyle Brand Wulterkens and marketing consultant at To The Nines Consultancy, I would describe myself as an optimistic young professional with an attitude of gratitude. I’m a hard worker, dreamer, perfectionist, fashion lover with a pretty all over, diverse style, a fitness fanatic, and at the same time the biggest foodie! I love laughing, genuine company, traveling and exploring. I know what I want and I am in pursuit of getting it…. Via www.nadiratothenines.com  (SISS) Hi Nadira where are you from and where are you Nadira Ramautarsingcurrently spending your time?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I am originally from Paramaribo, Suriname, South America, where I was born. Currently spending most of my time in The Netherlands, Europe.  (SISS) What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  On a career level, starting my first business during the financial crisis that seemed to last forever was definitely the hardest thing. My advice: keep going even though things might get rough. Never give up, be creative and keep showing up and giving your all every day. Better times will come and what you do every day until then will determine how good you come out of it.  (SISS) Entrepreneur, founder and CFO of @Wulterkensstore Owner to The Nines Marketing Consultancy, Awesome and inspiring YouTube Channel #SISS Tell us more, who is @NadiraRR and what are you most proud of?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I’m just a young, driven lady in the midst of exploring herself and life with all that it entails. I’m not proud of one specific accomplishment, I think I’m most proud of becoming a person that is constantly evolving and growing, not close to perfect (as far as perfect exists), but very much leveling up in all kinds of ways, continuously.  (SISS) One year from now what do you hope to have accomplished (business or personal)?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Business wise I would like to expand with one more concept store within the next year. I also want to have travelled to at least 6 different countries within that time. (SISS) How dedicated are you to fitness? What is your fitness goal? On your body, what is your favorite body part and what is your least favorite?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I can be extremely dedicated, but I also have phases where I prioritize my work and I am completely out of shape. It’s a forever battle finding that balance. My fitness goal is to feel good and confident in my skin and be vital, healthy, fit, not necessarily a number on the scale or jeans size. Although I have learned throughout my 29 years to be less hard on myself, the list of least favorite body parts is still longer than the favorites list. But if I have to choose, my favorite body parts are my hair, my lips and my hands. My least favorite body part is my Nadira Ramautarsingnose.  (SISS) What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Food, traveling, exploring, adventure especially combined with experiencing it all with my loved ones.  (SISS) What were your best/worst subjects in school?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Best: English/History/Geography  Worst: Physics  (SISS) How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I try to not have too many expectations, which automatically leads to less disappointment. And I remind myself that life is life and everything happens for a reason, so many rejections are just redirections to something better.  (SISS) What is your superpower?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I adapt to situations and people very quickly, and learn very fast, making me very flexible with regards to pretty much everything in life. My partner recently said, you’re like a sponge, which I thought was funny, but also an accurate description of one of my best features.  (SISS) What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Wanting too much at the same time and in that process being too hard on myself when things don’t go smoothly and being overwhelmed most of the time. Still working on overcoming by constantly reminding myself that there is a time for everything and I should try to take things one step at a time.  (SISS) Can you tell us four things people might not know about you?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I turn into a monster when I’m hungry. I’m an introvert (which many people find hard to believe) and in real life pretty much a loner with little to no social life, which I actually enjoy. I’m happiest walking around the house in my underwear (half naked). I am very, very clumsy (which people who know me well are very aware of though haha).  (SISS) Can you tell us where else can our readers follow your daily inspiration?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Daily on instagram (@nadirarr). My blog: www.nadiratothenines.com (though not active anymore, I’ve written a whole lot on my experiences with regards to entrepreneurship and personal growth), and every 2 weeks a new vlog on my youtube channel: NadiraRR  (SISS) What’s your favorite quote?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  It’s so difficult to choose a favorite one, but I think I’m going to go Nadira Ramautarsingwith ‘’All limitations are self-imposed’’.  (SISS) At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business. What are you most passionate about?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I have three different businesses, so overall I identify with feeling most passionate about delivering value to my customers and thereby enriching their lives, whether it’s with a customized t-shirt that makes them happy/ feel unique, or giving social media advice to my consultancy client that they actually get great results from. It gives whatever I do meaning and makes it worth while.  (SISS) Who was the most influential person in your life and why?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I think my mom has been the most influential during the first 18 years of my life, but for the past 10 years, my dad has played a highly influencing role too, him being an entrepreneur himself and me developing as an entrepreneur.  (SISS) Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Five years ago I was very insecure, trying to survive with my business during a financial crisis and I was still fighting many stupid fears like doing sales (door to door- and telephone sales). When I think back, I don’t understand what I was so afraid of. My advice to my younger self would be to quit making excuses and get out there! Cause that’s what I eventually did and by confronting myself and pushing myself, although it took a while, I finally realized there was nothing really to be so afraid of.  (SISS) Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Waking up, I usually have 15 min to check my phone for emails and messages, then it’s time to get ready for work, which takes me about 30-45 minutes. When I get to work, I immediately get at it, and most of the time forget to have breakfast until it’s already lunch time (which is really bad, I know). My days are never the same, as some are packed with meetings Nadira Ramautarsingand others are just administration/ content design/ social media planning days behind the laptop all day. Other days, I am actively helping customers in the store or helping with production for my textile printing company or doing photoshoots or video shoots for the vlog. Never a dull moment. Around 6 pm, it’s time to go home and on the more balanced days, I eat a little something and head to the gym or for a run outside (usually on warmer days) to clear my mind and get some sweat on. Afterwards, I get home, shower and back behind the laptop to finish some consultancy work, catching up on emails if I didn’t get to do so earlier and some preparation for the next day. If I’m lucky, I am still awake enough to get a few pages of reading done before I close my eyes and wander off to Neverland.  (SISS) What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  A favorite is hard to pick, the list is long. I’m currently reading ‘’The subtle art of not giving a fuck’’ by Mark Manson and it’s good. really good!  (SISS) What would be a good theme song for your life?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  Gosh, that’s a good one.. Way up by Rochelle definitely catches my vibe at the moment. But for life I guess...Eye of the Tiger, also my alarm hahaha.  (SISS) When do you feel the sexiest?  Nadira Ramautarsing(Nadira Ramautarsing)  When I feel happy and balanced, physically and mentally, just when I’m in a good place.  (SISS) Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  So many amazing people inspire me every day in all kinds of ways, so it’s hard to pick one. @frassyaudrey and @nicoleisaacs are amazing with regards to fashion, photography, lifestyle and travel. A few of the other social media accounts that inspire me daily: @thinkgrowprosper, @youareluminous, @forbes, @bossbabe.inc and @sarcasm_only(SISS) What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (Nadira Ramautarsing)  I believe women are more than their physical appearance and I definitely believe smart is THE new sexy. By investing in your self, your knowledge, skills and personal growth, you add so much value on top of your physical beauty and you develop yourself into someone who can contribute so much to the world.  (SISS)  Thank you so much Nadira you are an awesome person and many people will learn so much from you.
