Meet Gissette Valentin - Gissette Valentin, actress/dancer/photographer, known for "Empire", "Alvin and the Chipmunks : Road chip", "The Boss", "MTV Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew", CWs “The Dynasty”, "The Resident", and more. She has also danced with artist such as Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Johnny Gill, and Buckcherry. Gissette was born April 23rd in Orlando, Florida. Her family relocated to Oviedo, Florida at the age of 9. At that age, Gissette decided to teach herself how to dance and perform in her garage. At the age of 12, Gissette started to take acting and modeling classes but was too shy to finish. "I had the biggest stage fright and was camera shy. I would literally run from a camera. I told my mom I had a headache and couldn't make the last class. Which was the self-tape portion. She knew I was lying." At the age of 18, Gissette and her mother moved to Atlanta two days after she graduated high school. She went on to pursue her career in dancing and acting by training in anywhere from 2-14 dance classes a week and studying in Meisner, Improv, On-Camera comedy and much more. Gissette's laid back, yet goofy, personality has her mind running wild with writing out her stories, reading to continue learning, creating dances, and bringing a story to every photo. I traveled far haha.  (SISS)  What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle?  (Gissette Valentin)  The hardest thing I had to go through was trying to make other people happy that didn't care to make themselves happy. I would always find myself giving people what they wanted and/or taking time out of my day to make sure everyone else's problems were solved. During that, I lost who I was. The biggest advice I can give in that situation is f*#k it! You can love others, you can give back to others, you can always help others, but at the end of the day, you can’t lose yourself for those who don't appreciate your kindness. Those who truly care will be there just as equally.  (SISS)  Model, Actress, Dancer  #SISS Tell us more, who is @GissetteValentin and what are you most proud of?  (Gissette Valentin)  I just AM and that's what I'm most proud of. I am enjoying being present and taking advantage of opportunities and having the will power to change what no longer serves me and my end goal. Having FUN every step of the way!  (SISS)  One year from now what do you hope to have accomplished (business or personal)?  (Gissette Valentin)  One year from now I see myself walking down the red carpet with a big smile on my face. Leads in major films and TV series as well as building my own business. Basically a female Rock haha  (SISS)  How dedicated are you to fitness?  What is your fitness goal?  On your body, what is your favorite body part and what is your least favorite?  (Gissette Valentin)  Fitness plays a large role in my life. This industry can be draining and requires a lot on the body. It's also your only home, so you have to take care of it as so. My fitness goals are to be lean, sexy and just an overall bad ass. My favorite part on my body would be my legs. My least favorite....maybe my dancer feet.  (SISS)  What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you?  (Gissette Valentin)  My happiest moments are when I'm in the sun, outdoors, or when there's a thunder storm going on. Things that I find fun will 9/10 be outdoors or involving some artsy. Hiking, laying in the park, taking photos, mediating, training in fight choreography, writing scripts, and of course performing. Acting or dancing.  (SISS)  How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going?  (Gissette Valentin)  When it comes to disappointment, I let the emotion hit, I feel it, than I let it go. I always find a way to overcome and make a downfall work in my favor. Everything happens for a reason, and I run with that.  (SISS)  What is your superpower?  (Gissette Valentin)  I wish text could show my sarcasm on a question like this haha. My superpower would have to be my intuition. I've learned over the years that listening to your first thought and feeling is the way to go. It saves you a lot of time, effort and bad choices. Which is always a plus.  (SISS)  What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it?  (Gissette Valentin)  My weakness would be people. I love helping people and I'm not a fan of hurting anyone. Every now and then you get that bad seed that drains the life out of you. I over come it by using my superpower and walking away haha  (SISS)  Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you?  (Gissette Valentin)  I have a collection of over 200 comic books.  I love using Lion King references.  I listen to Disney and Christmas music randomly, way before Christmas.  I was very shy growing up. This love can be self love, love of your career/craft etc. Whatever it is, allow THAT to be the leading force behind who you are and your actions. Not your past, or other pain.  (SISS)  At Smart is so sexy we love to see women who are thriving in their career or business.  What are you most passionate about?  (Gissette Valentin)  I'm passionate about success and self love. Success in everything you do and loving yourself every step of the way. Creating, and building an empire!  (SISS)  Who was the most influential person in your life and why?  (Gissette Valentin)  I have two influential people in my life, because I'm greedy like that haha. One, my mother. Growing up I watched as she worked hard to make sure my brother and I lived in a good neighborhood, had food on the table and still had childlike moments. I also learned what struggling looked like and what its like to be triumph at the same time. How to over come hardship, even on your own. Second would be my Grandma. The love in her heart was something pure and the strength she had through her illness.  (SISS)  Where were you five years ago? What advice would you tell your five years younger self?  (Gissette Valentin)  RUN!! No I'm just kidding. Five years ago I was in a horrible relationship, lost and thinking about leaving the industry as a whole. I honestly wouldn't say a thing. I believe everything I went through during that time is exactly what was needed in order to be where I am today and where I'm going now.  (SISS)  Can you take us through a typical day? From Waking up to going to bed, Can you give us a play by play of a typical day for you?  (Gissette Valentin)  Depending on what time I went to bed the night before, due to a gig or training, I wake up between 5am and 7am (preferably 5am), hit the gym/workout, cook a high protein and fat breakfast with a veggie smoothie while I have a book playing on my audible app or a motivational video playing off youtube, shower, meditate, write down/give thanks for a min of 3 things,  and after that once I leave the house it varies. I either do some work at a Starbucks, go to a training session, and over all just non stop working, growing and training.  (SISS)  What is your favorite meal? What is your favorite book and/or the latest one you’ve read?  What is your favorite song?  (Gissette Valentin)  My favorite meal is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich haha. After that, anything salmon or sushi based with rice and beans. Strange. One of my favorite books would be "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck." My favorite song would have to be Frank Sinatra "World on a string".  (SISS)  When do you feel the sexiest?  (Gissette Valentin)  I feel sexy when I know I'm being true to myself.  (SISS)  Is there someone on social media that inspires you and is a great follow?  (Gissette Valentin)  The Rock. He's motivational and just real. A smart business man, fitness focused, and a creator.  (SISS)  What does Smart is so Sexy mean to you?  (Gissette Valentin)  Smart is so Sexy means you don't have to be half naked to be sexy. Be confident, always, but sex is not the end all be all.
