The Scrub Life is more than a profession- it's a dedication, it's a passion, & it's a lifestyle." - Elizabeth Ibarra, FNP-C Founder of Scrub Life Dreaming (via www.scrublifedreaming.com(SISS)  Hi Nurse Liz, where are you from and where are you currently spending your time?  (Nurse Liz)  I am originally Elizabeth Ibarra Nurse Lizfrom Houston, Texas and currently living in Southern California. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, and currently spending my days in an Urgent Care Setting.  (SISS)  What was one of the hardest things that you had to go through? What advice would you give someone going through the same struggle?  (Nurse Liz)  The hardest battle I had to fight was becoming the woman that I am today. Society tells you that as a Female and as a Latina you are not capable of achieving greatness. I dared to challenge the statistics and became a young medical professional at the age of 21. I dare you to defy the odds, and chase after your dreams. Allow your passion to fuel your potential!  (SISS)  Tell us who is Nurse Liz and what are you most proud of?  (Nurse Liz)  Nurse Liz is a provider for her patients, a woman and minority empowerment activist, and a role model for future nurses. I’m most proud of my journey. I went through hell and back, but it did not break me!  (SISS)  One year from now what do you hope to have accomplished?  Five years from now what do you hope to have accomplished?  Ten years from now what do you hope to have accomplished?  (Nurse Liz)  In a year I hope to have inspired, empowered, and mentored others along their path in the nursing field.  Five years from now I hope to have obtained my doctoral degree, established my own thriving medical practice, and have started a non-profit organization for impoverished nations.  Ten Years from now, I hope to have multiple thriving business’s both healthcare and non-healthcare related. I also hope to have expanded my practice into many healthcare centers for the community. I want to be an author for my own books. And lastly, give back by providing all profit towards my non-profit.  (SISS)  What makes you the happiest? What is fun for you?  (Nurse Liz)  I’m the happiest when traveling the world. It’s such a beautiful world that God created, and I’m determined to see as much of it during my lifetime.  (SISS)  How do you deal with disappointment? How do you Keep Going?  (Nurse Liz)  I have been disappointed many times. From not getting into the school I wanted, to failing classes, to not getting the “perfect” job. I have learned to endure the disappointments. There is always a bigger blessing on the other side. Things happen for a reason, and I trust that God has a purpose for everything he does in my life.  (SISS)  What is your superpower?  (Nurse Liz)  My superpower is being a NURSE, NURSE PRACTITONER, & NURSEPRENEUR! What’s yours?  (SISS)  What is your weakness and what do you do to overcome it?  Elizabeth Ibarra Nurse Liz(Nurse Liz)  My greatest weakness was not having the guidance to achieve my goals. I felt that I was not capable of achieving greatness. Coming from a low-socioeconomic community makes it 10x harder to succeed. I overcame it through sheer dedication and hard work. I knew what I wanted, and I was going to go after it. What else did I have to lose?  (SISS)  Can you tell us four things people don’t know about you?  (Nurse Liz)  (1) I was class president my Junior year of Highschool.  (2) I was in ROTC and almost joined the Marine Corp.  (3) I lived in Nacagdoches, Texas (the oldest city in Texas) for my first year of college.
